For fruit tarts etc.
Cream together
¾ cup soft butter
½ cup confection sugar

add 1 ½ cups flour lightly stir in (not too much)

press or pat into a 12" greased pan
bake 25-30 minutes @ 300* degrees
until lightly brown
Top with fresh fruit etc.
( not a shortbread cookie)
