Place 1&1/2 sticks butter in a bowl
Add ½ cup sugar
1/8 tsp. Salt
1/8tsp cream o tartar
1/8 tsp. Baking pwd.
Cream well with mixer
Shot of vanilla
Add ½ cup chopped Pecans (opt.)
Add 1 1/2 cup AP Flour
Blend into a good mass
Pre heat oven to325*
Press dough in a tart pan about ¾" thick,
Not to tight.
Bake 40 minutes until set and brown.
Cool well and cut into wedges or squares
For plain shortbread leave out the pecans.
