In a medium bowl place
¾ cup sugar
4 0z (1stick) butter or oleo
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
Cream well W/spoon or mixer
Add 3 eggs (one at a time)
Add 1 tbsp. anis oil or seed(to taste)
2 tbsp. almond flavor
stir in 2 /2/3 cups flour
Make into a soft dough but firm.
Shape into 2 logs pat oval shape w/ fingers
Bake till light brown in 375 oven about 20-25 minutes
Cool on racks or chill
Cut into slices place up on baking trays and toast 8 min.
Turn toast second side 10-12 minutes.
Store in air tight cans
