Crack 2 eggs into a 1-cup measuring cup
Add water to make 3/4 cup liquid
In bowl place 1 1/4 cup flour (bread flour best)
2 tbsp. milk pwd.
4 tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp or a big pinch salt (important)
2 tbsp shortening
2 tbsp. yeast
Stir a bit and add liquid and mix.
Form a dough put on clean table and knead, 100 strokes
As you knead the dough roll ½ cup diced fruit and 1/4 cup pecans.
Make up, roll kneaded dough into a flat oval, place on baking board or flat pan cover with plastic and let it rise.
Bake at 400* aprox. 15 minutes until golden brown.
Make a simple frosting, to ½ cup pwd. Sugar add a drop or two of water stir to a paste mix until smooth and add a drop of water to thin a bit, pour over stolen warm of cool and let dry. Serve.
Special note add ½ tsp anise spice if you have some, it add a licorice flavor.
