Place 8oz (1) cup warm water in a med. size bowl
1 heaping Tbsp. Shortening
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tsp. Salt
1 level cup Whole Wheat flour
2 Tbsp. milk Pwd.
2 Tbsp. Quick yeast
Stir the above, then add 1 1/3 cup flour (any)
Mix with spoon as far as you can , then Place on a clean spot on counter top and start working the dough (kneading) Press it down hard, roll long and fold to center . It will become less sticky and the more you Knead the dough the smoother it will become Do this 100 time rest between rolling, say after each 25. The dough can rest (covered ) Up to an hour between rolling, or do it all at once.
Shape into a loaf place in the pan and cover the top with flour, now place into a plastic bag loosely close end . It needs to rise until double in size.
Bake @ 400* for 10 minutes and turn back oven temperature to 375* and bake out aprox. 30 minutes until the bottom is nice and brown
