PLACE IN A MED. SIZE BOWL
ADD 2 1/2 CUPS FLOUR (ANY)
2 Heaping TBSP. GRAN. SUGAR
1/2 TBSP. BAKING PWD.
1/2 TBSP SODA
1/2 TBSP SALT
1 PACKAGE YEAST (1 tbsp.)
4OZS. (1/2 CUP SHORTENING*)

MIX JUST AS TO RECIPE IS WRITTEN MIX , WITH SPOON UNTIL IT IS CRUMBLE THEN ADD 1 CUP BUTTERMILK AND MIX INTO A DOUGH BUT DO NOT OVER MIX, THIS DOUGH DOE'S NOT NEED TO BE WORKED (KNEADED) LIKE BREAD DOUGH, BUT IT NEEDS TO BE RESTED ABOUT AN HOUR BEFORE MAKE UP.

ROLL OUT ON A FLOURED BOARD CUT LIKE ANY OTHER BISCUIT , REMEMBERING THEY NEED TO BE AS THICK AS THEY ARE ROUND

Buttermilk can be made by adding a 3 Tbsp. Vinegar to whole milk
Margarine can replace shortening or butter or a combination in recipe
